About the Doctor
Dr. Mitchell Cassel has been practicing Optometry since 1982, providing
comprehensive eye examinations for the detection of eye diseases,
prescribing eye glasses, fitting difficult contact lens patients
and treating eye diseases with the use of therapeutic medication.
He has both a therapeutic and diagnostic drug license.
Dr. Mitchell Cassel is
one of the leading prosthetic contact lens specialists in the eye
care profession. He has a private practice in New
York City where he helps many prosthetic patients referred throughout
the country and internationally. In addition he has lectured extensively
on prosthetic lenses, been a consultant to leading contact lens
companies including Vistakon, Wesley Jessen, Ciba and Coopervision.
He continues to travel throughout the world to help find better
contact lens materials for prosthetic and cosmetic use.
The doctor received
his degrees from Lehigh University and the Pennsylvania College
of Optometry. He has received additional education in Optometry
and Contact Lens technology including therapeutic and diagnostic
credentialing.
In addition Dr. Cassel lectures and writes
extensively in the eye care professional community on the topic
of cosmetic and prosthetic contact lenses. He is a consultant to
many of the leading contact lens companies including Johnsons and
Johnson, CIBA and CooperVision.
Dr. Cassel is also one
of the leading providers of special
effect contact lenses to the motion picture, television and
video industries. He has worked on over 750 productions, helping
the actors compliment their makeup using unusual contact lenses.
